Is Life Unfair?

Image
Why me? This is one of the many questions we ask ourselves whenever things are going so bad for us. We think that life is unfair because of the troubles that come our way. We get frustrated and depressed, because we are not able to get or do what we want. When that happens, anger starts building deep inside us until such time that we want to scream and blame God for being so unfair. Why is God being so unfair? Why did He let the heathens prosper and those who trust in Him don't? We envy those who are always lucky because they got big and happy family and they have everything they want. They are lucky because they have cars, wonderful houses, and all the comforts they can have. They got money and they got everything while we suffer and have none of what they have. When the rich becomes sick, they have the means to get the best form of care and attention from the top notch physicians, while the poor get poorer and sicker because they can't afford the services of the pe

It's Okay to admit "I don't know"

Some Christians, especially those who have been for a long time, think they know everything there is to know about being a Christian.  They seem to know all the answers to every question and all solutions to a problem.  That's great because it means they are learning well, but it doesn't mean that you can brag about it because sometimes there are things you don't know.  It is scary!  Why? When we think we know everything, pride sets in.  We don't want to admit that sometimes we don't know the answers or what to do.  We don't want to humble ourselves and let others share what they can to help.  It pleases God if we pause, confess our inadequacy, and ask for His wisdom as we continue to learn more about Him and more about living the Christian faith.  If others ask and we don't know, it's okay to tell them we don't know.  Get rid of that pride that won't help you grow as a Christian.  It's okay not to know because it takes a life time to learn

Freedom From the Bondage of Sin

To be free meant a lot to us because we want to do what we want, and to go where we want without restraints. What is freedom? Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint Are we free or still in bondage?  What's keeping us in bondage?  There are so many things in our Christian life that are still keeping us in bondage.  They are the sins that come with our old nature when we still didn't know and accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior. Examples are: lying, stealing, bitterness, anger, pride, and lust. The following verses tell us what's keeping us bondage and what to do with them. Ephesians 4:22-32 "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with h

Loving God, Loving Others

Image
Love One Another - Is It Easy? When God gave His son, Jesus, to die for our sins, His sacrificial love was for the whole world - for everyone. He did not choose who to love and who not to love. God loves us so much and He wants us to love Him in return. But loving God means loving others, too. We have to admit that when we hear the words "Love one another", we only love those who are lovable. We exclude the person who really annoys us and who doesn't pass the standards of our "Love button". Don't say that you are not capable of loving even the most horrible person because you are. You are created by a loving God and love is in your being. You only have to act on it. I know most of us can love almost everybody but I'd like to focus on two types of people we have difficulty loving. Love Your Neighbors (As You Love Yourself) "And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all

Regretfully Yours

What Are Our Regrets? I have mine, you have yours. They are regrets that make us wish there is a reset button we can press every time we make a mistake so that we can start all over again. But things already happened and we can't undo them. Things happened, and in the process we've hurt other people, those who are closest to our hearts, including ourselves. We regret doing things and have lived in the pain that goes with it, along with the consequences that came after it. Living in the present, are we still struggling with the regrets that we have? What happened in the past happened. It's time to get over them, move on, and stop reliving them. Is There Something Good that Came Out From those Regrets? Have you become a stronger, better and wiser person? If you did, at least you benefited from them and probably have moved on for the better. Are you still wallowing in the pit of regrets? If you are, you are still living in the past and struggling everyday of your

By His Stripes I am Healed!

A minister once told me not to believe the devil's lies. But somehow along the way, I find myself easily believing one out of so many lies of the enemy. By believing it, that lie seems to be slowly gripping me causing me to be anxious, panicky and starting to lose my grip on God's loving hand. Unnoticed, if I let it then that lie will manifest itself because I have believed it to happen. I am reminded again and again not only to feed on the Word of God but to stand firm on it because what God says in His Word is true and will stand forever. Any kind of sickness or illness that we have, we can trust God for healing and claim His promises found in His Word. John 10:10 says that the enemy came to steal, kill and to destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly. So why choose to believe the enemy when we can choose to believe Jesus Christ Who can give us more? Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was
